The rapid development of high quality garden hose is driven by many factors. According to the development plan of the fifteen chemical building materials, by 2005, in the new construction, reconstruction and expansion projects in the country, 70% of the building drainage pipes are made of plastic pipes, 50% of the building rainwater drainage pipes are plastic pipes, and 20% of the urban drainage pipes are plastic pipes. 60% of building water supply, hot water supply and heating pipes use plastic pipes; 50% of urban water supply pipes (below DN400) use plastic pipes, 60% of village water supply pipes use plastic pipes; 50% of urban fired pipes (medium and low-pressure pipes) use plastic Pipe, building wire threading sheath tube 80% use plastic pipe. The investment in major projects will also force the demand for PVC pipes. For example, the “South-to-North Water Transfer”, the opening of the old industrial base in the northwest, and the successful bid for the 2008 Olympic Games have become the main factors for increased demand.
However, at present, the processing capacity distribution of high quality garden hose is structurally unreasonable. The processing capacity of SMEs is mainly concentrated in PVC drainage pipes, and a large number of non-standard pipes are still flooding the market, resulting in disorderly and chaotic market competition.
In recent years, in some traditional flexible garden hose, the replacement momentum of PE and PP-R is obvious. The ban on market share of food encroachment and lead-containing stabilizers in flexible garden hoses in contact with food products will have a negative impact on the development of PVC pipes. In particular, PVC raw materials generally account for 70-80% of the total cost. The change in the price of PVC of the main raw material has a significant impact on enterprises. After 1998, capacity expansion, market competition intensified, prices fell, PVC raw material prices rose, and industry profits fell. Many small and medium-sized enterprises have been shoddy and shoddy to survive. The flexible garden hose itself is a waste of transportation loading space, and the introduction of new road traffic regulations further increases transportation costs.
