By 75 percent of the OSRS players

Because the precise situation happened in game 19, so you bringing up smithing being capped out is immaterial. Then you bring alchmate up when it is used by 75 percent of the OSRS players.

Which was exactly my point about high alching, you'll never find an item with great margins which lasts for over 24 hrs because players will constantly buy out the distribution until the prices are no more profitable, because large alching pushes the market for items that would normally be useless and prevents them from bottoming out just like a dead stock would in real life.

High alching gives an artificial need to seemingly useless items thus keeping older content related and creating the rs economy as a whole a lot diverse and different compared to other mmos, where many mmos are equipment treadmills where things will eventually become worthless and totally irrelevant in time because of power creep along with the industry inflation which follows.

I simply find it comical you behave like"gold rushes" are an irrelevant and stupid way of making money when that is literally what each top tier participant does and has done for a long long long time. New content arrives, they can do it due to being spat out, and it is abused by them to the point where it is not worth their time.

That is what EVERY maxed player has done, from Theater of Blood all the way back into the initial whips, probably farther. That's pretty much the entire stage to playing with an MMO. Getting the most from content that is new and being able to play with it when it releases.
